Father delivers baby on side of freeway after he and wife are delayed stopping for gas on way to hospital

When Nicole Reynolds's water broke two weeks ahead of her due date, her husband sprung into action, packing his wife into the car.
Yet Aaron Reynolds, from San Diego, California, never quite made it to the hospital - after his Port Expedition ran out of gas.
After re-routing to a gas station on the way to the hospital, Nicole could wait no longer and her husband delivered their third child on the freeway.

On the way to the hospital, Mrs Reynolds began screaming, demanding her husband pull the car over.
'She's saying she needs to push,' he recalled. 'She said, "Pull over the vehicle" and any father knows when the wife says pull over you better pull over.'

So Mr Reynolds, 31, pulled onto the hard shoulder of Interstate 15 and called 911. Attempts to flag down help from drivers were unsuccessful.
But with the guidance of the 911 operator, he was able to deliver his 7Ib 8oz son, Jeremiah, at 12.30 a.m. in the front seat of his car.
