Preventing Teen Pregnancy &
STD/STI's
The only 100% effective method of preventing pregnancy is abstinence. Abstinence and condoms provide some protection against sexually transmitted infections and diseases (STI/STD’s). Most other birth control methods do not provide protection against STI/STD’s, so condoms should be used every time. Couples who do have sex need to use birth control (including condoms) properly and consistently every tie. Birth Control Fact Sheet
