Apple cider vinegar is just one product from your cupboard that can be used a beauty multi-tasker.
The vinegar, which costs around £1.50 from health stores, has antibacterial properties and using it as a toner helps the skin remain pH balanced and healthy.
Beauty professionals have recommended apple cider vinegar, used as a topical astringent to thoroughly cleanse pores and dry out spots, for some time. It can also be added to your bath to draw out toxins in the skin.
Scarlett Johansson slathers the natural product across her face to keep her spots at bay.
While the actress did admit that the product can be harsh on skin, it has actually been effective in treating her spots.
Speaking to Contactmusic about her beauty secrets, she revealed: 'I researched natural skincare and found that apple cider vinegar is really effective.
'Using it as a toner can be harsh, but if you have breakouts it can be really healing.'
Ella Woodward, blogger and author of the Deliciously Ella cookbook, revamped her beauty regime to include all natural products and loves cleansing her skin with apple cider vinegar.
She said: 'As I started to nurture my body with foods that it loved, I started to become conscious of everything else I was doing and whether it was really the most loving thing to do for my body.
'We absorb about 60-70 per cent of everything we put onto our skin into our blood stream, so if your deodorant contains aluminium (which all the non-natural ones do) then you have aluminium pumping around your body and that's kind of gross.
'So over the last year I stopped using conventional products and developed a natural skincare routine, which I love. Not only is my skin so much better than ever before, but I've also saved so much money on fancy products.'
It's not just on your face that the product can be used; rinsing your hair with it can remove build-up before shampooing, ensuring squeaky clean and dandruff-free hair. It is also a brilliant way to de-tangle locks.

    COCONUT OIL
Coconut oil has become something of a wonder oil, with experts and celebrities claiming it can successfully treat everything from stretch marks and cellulite to mosquito bites, sunburn and acne.
The lauric acid in it is credited with antibacterial, antifungal and anti-inflammatory properties, hence its popularity as a skin lotion.
Indeed, sales were up 442 per cent at Sainsbury’s last year.
Shaving with the oil is said to give your legs an unrivalled silky finish, slathering it over your body is said to have a deoderising effect and it can be used as a glossy and moisturising lip gloss.
Countless celebrities swear by the stuff for making their hair shine, vegans love cleansing and moisturising their skin with it and it's also said to help lash and eyebrow growth.

Kim Kardashian told MailOnline last year that coconut oil is 'everything' and that she and her sisters use it daily on their skin.
Neal's Yard Remedies have included a coconut shaving balm in their Beauty Book.
'This ultra-rich shaving balm contains a combination of nourishing and skin-smoothing oils that lubricate the skin for a close and comfortable shave,' reads the recipe, which is also packed with almond oil, nut butter and chamomile.
'Coconut oil softens the hair making it easier for the razor to glide along the skin. Sandalwood essential oil has soothing and cooling properties and is blended with refreshing neroli oil, which helps reduce redness and irritation.

The book also contains a recipe for coconut and lime lip balm, which it says conditions and nourishes the lips.
Vaseline, while not an all-natural product, also has beauty boosting benefits.
Like coconut oil, it helps lashes grow longer, can be used on your teeth to prevent getting lipstick on them, and rubbing it on pulse points before applying perfume will make the scent last longer.
    INSIDE YOUR FRIDGE
Lemons and acidic fruits have also be touted for their natural healing properties, according to Ogle School.
Cutting a lemon in half and rubbing it onto elbows can help rid discolouration, it can be used as a toner to lighten age spots and mixing it with water can help lighten hair.
Pineapple, meanwhile, can be used as a loofah in the shower, rubbing apples over skin helps rid acne and strawberry mashed up with baking soda apparently helps whiten teeth.
The website also claim that spreading egg whites under your eyes helps remove puffy bags and spreading it over your face reduces oil.
