He's a gift': Baby born with 12 toes in Tennessee

A baby boy born with an extra digit on each foot for a total of 12 toes is being labeled 'a gift.'
Deirdra Malone, of Memphis, Tennessee gave birth to the boy named Bobby Jr two months ago and she didn't immediately notice the additional two toes.
The boy won't have to remove the six toes on each foot for his condition called polydictal because all the digits are healthy and fully formed.

Ms Malone was thrilled when she first saw her son at Baptist Memorial Hospital East and didn't see any problems with the child.
None of the hospital workers observed the extra digits.
When the hospital gave Ms Malone a copy of her son's footprints that staff members made, she began to count the toes.

'And I looked and I said, "One, two, three, four, five...six?"' she told WREG.com.
She went on to say: 'I said, "Six? No.'
Ms Malone told staff: 'Bring him back.'
'Six?': Ms Malone (pictured) and hospital staff didn't notice the baby's extra digits until they made footprints and realized he had 12 toes
So hospital staff and the mother began to count the boy's toes to find six toes on each foot.
'I was like, what? 12-toed baby?' Ms Malone told the news station.
Doctors called the case rare because the extra toes shouldn't cause any health problems for the baby.
Ms Malone told WREG.com: 'It’s a gift and that’s how I look at him - as a gift.'

Bobby Jr, who was born weighing eight pounds and two ounces, also can keep the extra toes because of its full formation.
Ms Malone hopes the supplementary toes will come in handy in the future.
