Women over 30 are more likely to have sex on a first date than their younger counterparts, according to a new study.
A third of participants (34 per cent) from the age bracket admitted that they would get intimate on a first date compared to just 12 per cent of 24 to 27-year-olds.
The research was conducted to better understand the way single women react towards the pressures of dating.
Luke Pomaro, the founder of datewithamate.com, which commissioned the survey of  1,171 single women across the UK, said: 'Sleeping with someone on a first date is a completely personal decision and down to the two people who are on the date.
'Everybody has different views on "dating etiquette" and ultimately it is an individual choice.
'The only thing we would advise is that people are safe on dates and always take responsible precautions.'
The study initially asked respondents if they had ever taken part in online dating, to which almost half, 46 per cent, answered ‘yes’.

In a bid to investigate the topic further, they were then asked what stage of the relationship they had sex for the first time.
Those aged over 30 revealed that they were more likely to have sex on the first date and on the second date also.
While more than half (53 per cent) of female participants between the ages of 24 and 27 said they would wait until the third date.
However almost three quarters of the all respondents agreed that sex was an ‘important’ part of a relationship.
And through online dating, 86 per cent said they felt ‘hopeful’ that they would meet their life partner ‘soon’.
